As an Altrincham based company it has always been our policy to put something back into the local community. When the opportunity arose to become a sponsor to the Ice Hockey Club it was a good way to honour this commitment.
Peter & Teresa Millington - the directors of the company - have had an interest in the sport since the "Storm" days & were delighted to get on board with Neil and the team to help make the Phoenix a success.
Not only does the Ice Hockey team raise the profile of the company, it helps to raise the awareness of the facilities in the Altrincham area - an area that has for many years been associated with ice based sports.

Bolton University
The University of Bolton has four academic schools and two research institutes and a research centre, offering an exciting and innovative range of courses from access and foundation level to undergraduate certificates, diplomas, degrees, and postgraduate masters and doctorates.

The University's Business Support and Development Unit (BSDU) represents the majority if the University's business activities using the resources of the Design Studio, Innovation Factory, Product Development service and Creative Industry projects.The university is able to provide a unique mix of expertise to industry via its Marketing, Finance and Training programmes, rapid-prototyping equipment and research capability. The BSDU is specialising in encouraging and supporting the business owner to focus on sales generation, product development and making profit.
The Design Studio and Innovation Factory is a new concept within the HE sector that allows students and academics to work on "live" project briefs for industry.

Manchester Phoenix Community
Sports Foundation
This year the MPCSF will be operating in six specific areas, all of which will focus on getting children involved in live sport. As for many years now, we will be regularly holding our community Roadshows.
The Roadshows cover a myriad of topics, including healthy eating and diets, bullying, drug abuse and environmental awareness while highlighting the national curriculum. The Roadshow is run and presented by our players and match night crew, and comes complete with backdrop, PA system, LCD screens, video modules, interactive slides and physical activity equipment.
The Manchester Phoenix Ice Hockey Club, along with its partners, also makes sure that the participants and their families that have never seen the Phoenix play can come and have a great night out, and all for free. This event has not only proved to be of great educational value to the Schools and children, but lots of fun. Many, many schools already have this event in their calendar. Our aim this year is to put 1500 children, plus their families, through this element of the foundation's activities in the next twelve months.
The Manchester Phoenix Community Sports Foundation will also be lending a helping hand with three specially chosen children's charities in the North West. The Foundation will make a special ticket allocation available that can be pre-sold at a discounted rate to members, supporters and affiliated partners who have never seen the Manchester Phoenix play before. Then, 75% of the face value of the ticket can then be donated to the represented charity.

We have remained focused on ‘Building a Better Altrincham’ and played a key role in promoting the Altrincham Forward group which we believe holds the key to returning our town to its former glories.
